We are incredibly proud of Year 11 who have achieved outstanding GCSE results! From their starting point in 2019 pupils have progressed well above national expectations - particularly in English and maths - putting them in a very strong position for Post 16 options, including at our brand new Sixth Form opening this September.

Double the national average of pupils gained 4+ in the English Baccalaureate range of subjects, with strengths in English Literature (91% attaining grade 4 or above) and French (88% attaining grade 4 or above). There were also strong performances in science, history and geography. 82% of year 11 achieved grades 9-4 in English and maths with 22% attaining at grade 7 or above in both.

Sophia Thomas-Siphika, one of the school’s high-performing pupils, earned a staggering seven grade 9s and two grade 8s, alongside a further mathematics qualification. She said:

“I am so happy and shocked - with all the hardships over the last 5 years we have made it! I could not have done this without the school, who has taught me a lot about self-discipline and how to revise. I am so proud of my grade 9 in maths and further maths grade as I want to do these subjects for A level and university. Revision and those few months were hard but it all paid off… now I can celebrate!”

Other individual successes included:

  • Mason Macdonald, who achieved five grade 9s across maths, triple science and computer science and will continue mathematics into A Level at our new Sixth Form

  • Nancy Ibrahim, who excelled in English Literature and Language, history and RE with four grade 9s and a further four grade 8s in a range of other subjects

  • Enoch Chang, a top performer with eight grade 9s including an exceptional grade 9 in Further Mathematics

  • Parisa Armani, who achieved five grade 9s and six grade 8s across the range of subjects including Further Maths and is excited to study at Pioneer as a founding Y12 pupil at Pioneer

  • Meriem Haddou, who impressed across STEM and humanities subject with three grade 9s, four grade 8s and four grade 7s, including Further Mathematics

  • Gavin Chan, former Ark Music Scholarship winner who attained a grade 9 in music and will study music at Ark Pioneer Sixth Form

  • Anthony Ferreira, who achieved five grade 9s and is taking up a scholarship at Eton College to study history and politics

  • Kalina Miteva, who achieved an impressive four grade 9s and five grade 8s across a broad range of subjects

These results follow a successful academic year, during which the school received its first Ofsted inspection. Ark Pioneer was rated outstanding in all areas, with inspectors stating, ‘This is an exceptional school where pupils flourish.’

Founding Principal Aishling Ryan said, “We are incredibly proud of pupils and our staff team – well done to all! The results achieved are testament to the hard work that’s been put in over the first five years and are a very strong platform for the opening of our Sixth Form and pupils’ next steps.”

Ark Pioneer are delighted to be to enrolling inaugural Sixth Formers here today. We will be hosting our annual Year 6 Open Evening for prospective pupils and their families on Thursday 12th September from 5pm and further open mornings through this half term – please see our website for more details.
