The Y7 football team have had an excellent football season, with many victories in the Barnet Schools league and cup competitions.
The team played East Barnet in the semi-final where Loris scored in the last 5 minutes to take Ark Pioneer to their first football final! The final was played away against JCOSS.
Ark Pioneer started the game really well and had the better of the chances from Ayushman and Raphael. Mohammed and Chikamso were particularly impressive and controlled the ball for the majority of the game in Central Defensive Midfielder roles. Quinton and Alex G created a fortress in defence which JCOSS couldn’t break down. In the last 5 minutes Ayushman went one on one with the goalkeeper and the keeper pulled off a great save. The game finished as a draw which meant penalties were needed to determine the winner. Both teams converted their first four penalties but sadly the fifth penalty was missed by Ark Pioneer allowing JCOSS to win the cup.
The year 7 football team have showed great character this year and have been great ambassadors for the school. This team will come back stronger next year and hopefully add some trophies to the school trophy cabinet.
