At 11am on Tuesday, 11th November, we came together, as a community, to mark the national two-minute silence for Remembrance Day. In a moving tribute, our talented pupils, Lewis, Amalie and Gimena performed The Last Post and The Reveille on their trumpets, conducted by Mr Monk, Head of Music, echoing the traditional military call that honours those who have served and sacrificed in times of war.
The poignant notes of The Last Post signaled the beginning of the silence, inviting staff and pupils to pause and reflect on the bravery and loss experienced by generations past. Following the silence, The Reveille was played to symbolise the awakening and continuation of life, reminding us of the enduring legacy of those we remember.
This musical tribute was a powerful moment of unity and respect within our school community. We are incredibly proud of the pupils who performed, demonstrating not only musical skill but also maturity and reverence for the occasion.
We remain committed to fostering a culture of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection. Thank you for everyone who bought poppies and participated and supported this important event.
