Over 200 pupils and school leaders and staff came together on Tuesday morning to protest for a safe crossing on the adjacent road to our school Westcombe Drive.

Many pupils travel down from Mays Lane or the A1000 (Barnet High Road) and are forced to cross Westcombe Drive to get to school, but without any safe crossing point. Pupils, parents and the Ark Pioneer team feel very strongly that their safety needs are not being met. The protest weas led by Pupil Council leaders. Groups of pupils volunteered to make banners and  chants could be heard loud and clear ‘We want a safe crossing’.

Local Councillors are supporting the work with Barnet Highways to address the matter urgently and we look forward to a meeting with Barnet Highways in the next week to discuss steps forward.

Well done to all pupils who made their voice heard!
