Two of our year 10 pupils Taran & Anthony took part in the national First Give Youth Advisory Group last week
Alongside other young people across the country, youth advisors from three First Give partner schools have been meeting regularly over the course of this year to discuss their experience as alumni of the First Give programme. They have gathered insights from other students at their schools whilst also taking part in consultation on various programmatic decisions at First Give. This meeting was an opportunity for them to share their insights, and for the board to speak directly to beneficiaries of the charity.
As part of the meeting, members of the First Give Board of Trustees (Sinclair Beecham, Barry Frankfurt and Jeremy Langley) and the Youth Advisory Group met. Youth advisors had spent the preceding months gathering feedback and insights into First Give from students at their school. They delivered presentations to the Board, and engaged in a 45 minute conversation about a range of critical issues including how to improve charity engagement; the benefits of First Give for the full year group and the skills they developed through their participation on the programme.
Congratulations to Taran and Anthony representing Pioneer on this national stage.
We look forward to working closely with First Give again in the Spring Term when year 8 embark on their social action project.
