As a reward for exceptional effort in English this year so far, 70 pupils across year 7-9 visited the Globe Theatre on the 1st March. Pupils watched a new performance of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in partnership with the Deutsche Bank. Set in 2024, it is the most famous story about teenager star- crossed lovers ever told: their intense passion lights up a world of conflict between the rival families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Pupils really enjoyed the modern take on the story and the action packed performance, expecially the characters of Mercutio and Paris.
Luckily, the rain held back for a delightful sunny walk along the Southbank and Thames from the underground to the theatre.
Thank you to pupils and staff for a lovely trip! We look forward to taking some year 10 pupils next week.
