We were delighted to host Year 8’s First Give Social Action project final yesterday afternoon, Monday 25th March.
First Give is a charity that works with partner schools to inspire young people to make a positive change in society. Pupils collaborate in groups over four months exploring social action relevant to their communities including researching charities, considering what they are passionate about in terms of social change and planning raising awareness and fundraising.
We are very grateful for the time of Councillor Zahra Begg and Emma Taylor, Pathways & Enrichment governor, who joined as guest judges.
The following charities were supported:
8 Angelou – Impact Barnet
Laureen, Ameas, Elisa, Hydie, Aarav & David
8 Farah – CommUNITY Barnet
Rufus, Ryaan, Wahiz, Naomi, Abdillahi & Khush
8 Howe – Chipping Barnet Food Bank
Mahjub, Rhean, Nico, Naina, Luca, Marwon & Pandora
8 Mukai – Together in Barnet

8 Parton – Young Barnet Foundation

Congratulations to the winners 8 Howe. We were delighted to be joined by members of Chipping Barnet Food Bank who celebrated the form group’s win and are delighted with the £1,000 donation from the First Give group.
Thank you to Ms Harris, Ms Clark and all the year 8 tutor team for their support in coordinating the project work. Last year, we were featured as a case study for the group on their website which you can see here.
