On Thursday 9th November the Altruism Enrichment group consisting of pupils from year 9 and 10 were joined by Bob Bevil from Chipping Barnet Food Bank. Mr Bevil was invited in to collect Ark Pioneer’s food bank donations and to talk to the Altruism students about how the donations are used in and around the local area.
It was saddening to hear that the food bank had by the start of November this year had supported more people than the entirety of last year, proving that our donations are more important than ever.
Pupils were able to share their own experiences and observations of the cost of living crisis upon families in our community, and were pleased to hear that our donations will make a difference. The picture shows some of the donations our school community collected.
A big thank you to all those who supported us from the Altruism enrichment group!
