We were pleased to welcome in Mason Brown at the end of last term, to talk to our pupils about career opportunities in the Construction industry.
Mason spoke to pupils about his journey into construction, including how he learnt from his work experience placements in school, his choice of A levels and eventually going on to study Construction Management in university.
Mason spoke about the diverse nature of the work and how important collaboration with people is in his industry, as well as an ability to be flexible and adaptable: ‘There is always an element of reasoning and changing designs to make things work with all parties – you deal with a he range of people architects, trades men and designers’.
He was pressed on salary ranges by our pupils – and spoke about the value of apprenticeships where young people can earn as they train and the opportunity to earn high salaries with progression in the role.
Thank you Mason for joining us – we learnt a lot about opportunities in construction!
