On the afternoon of Friday the 9th a small group of Year 8 artists ventured into London to visit The National Gallery. Whilst travelling they sketched and revised for their upcoming exams. Whilst touring the grand and illustrious rooms they came within inches of glorious masterworks by Renaissance masters Crivelli, Van Eyck and Holbein the Younger, whose most well-known and mysterious painting ‘The Ambassadors’ is the centrepiece of their current project which investigates iconography. Behaviour was exemplary throughout and pupils contributed enthusiastically to discussions led by Mme Secluna and Mr Critchley. The trip was also kindly accompanied by Mme Adams Head of Maths and Mr Jury our Site Team Manager who share an interest in Art.
