Our plans relating to the Government’s Education Tier System

The national and local situation with covid-19 (coronavirus) continues to change. We were required to outline our approach to possible local restrictions that could be put in place in autumn 2020.

Barnet is currently subject to national restrictions rather than any specific interventions, but we are ready if anything changes in our local context.

In autumn 2020, the government outlined a tiered approach that schools must follow if there is a covid-19 outbreak and the steps we should take in each scenario in autumn 2020. This is different to the national levels of restrictions which include medium (1), high (2) and very high (3).  To read about the current restrictions, please click here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-coronavirus-restrictions-what-you-c...

The local authority and public health officials will inform us if we are moving to a specific tier within schools and any changes required. To be clear, these decisions will not be for our school to make.
