Pupils explore democracy, preparing for Pioneer’s own General Election
On Friday, Pioneer pupils embarked on their first Pillar Day, focussing on exploring our four core values. They delved into learning about democracy as part of our preparations for the General Election at Ark Pioneer on December 12.
Pupils had been introduced to the four British Values as part of our Values & Character Programme. On Friday, pupils learnt about the importance of democracy and considered how people voting in the upcoming general election might come to make their decision.
Pupils researched the main political parties and presented on their policies relating to health, education, the environment, the economy and their stance on Brexit. We were very impressed by how each team worked together. It was an excellent start to the preparations for each pupil voting here at Pioneer in our own junior version of the General Election.
