Election Day excitement at Ark Pioneer

Following on from our first pillar day last month where pupils learnt about the importance of taking your vote seriously, Year 7 took to the voting booth today in our very own junior general election run by the academy council.

Pupils had researched all the different political parties and their policies during the Value and Character sessions that take place during form time. Pupils focused on three main areas where policies would particularly relate to young people; Education, Environment and Broadband.

There has been great debate among the Year 7 pupils, but staff have been very proud at how they have modelled kindness to those with different opinions to themselves.

The academy council spent time yesterday afternoon counting the votes and our winning party was announced today during assembly.
