Ark Pioneer pupils go above and beyond to support our local community

Tuesday 12 January 2021

During December our pupils were reflecting on our character trait of altruism, as part of the wider Values and Character curriculum that takes place during tutor time. Pupils decided to raise money for their chosen charities via a Christmas Jumper day. Year 7 pupils raised over £200 for Cancer Research UK while our Year 8 pupils chose to donate to #TeamTrees, a charity which focuses on planting trees and restoring the natural environment. Over 200 trees will now be planted in the name of Ark Pioneers founding year group.

Pupils from both years also created food boxes for donation to our local Chipping Barnet Foodbank.  We were overwhelmed by the donations from our pupils and their families, and greatly humbled by pupils living our value of kindness by giving back to those from our community in more need, especially during these difficult times.  The food boxes were delivered to the Foodbank on Thursday 17th December to support families during the Christmas period.  The Trussel Trust Foodbank thanked our pupils and their families for all the amazing donations.
